Hi-Fi, Digital Photography & Favourite Things

Digital Photography

I like photography as good photos always bring us good memories. Over the years, I have taken many portrait photos. After migrated to New Zealand, I see that there are lots of beautiful things in this country and this is a good reason for me to widen my scope in landscape and macro photography.

Technologies move fast. I stopped to use film cameras around 2005 and moved into digital world. Unlike other full time professional photographers, I do not have justification for top model equipment but I still believe that camera has NOTHING to do with making great photos.

A little bit history of my cameras
My first SLR was a Canon AE-1 Program. I bought it in around 1983. It is a great camera and I learn quite a bit of photography using it. I also had a Sigma 35-70mm and a Sigma 70-210mm zoom lenses. I took lots of portraits and the image quality is good.

In 1993, I decided to use auto focus SLR. I chose Nikon F50 because I like the image quality of Nikon lenses (my preference, no offense to Canon user here). If I am right, it was the first time for Nikon to use push button for selecting options on a SLR. Operation is quite easy, but some photographers may dislike it. Out of some reasons, I lost my F50 in 1998. That gave me a good reason to get my third SLR …… 🙂

In 1999, I bought a Nikon F60 package with a 28-80mm and a 75-240mm zoom Nikkor lenses. I took many pictures of my kids and that’s why I mentioned, good photos always bring us good memories.
